detection beams that open door without contact (beam)
car dimensions allowing a turning wheelchair
buttons and emergency controls within easy reach

Audible signals (as well as easily seen and recognized visual ones) in the car and at landings
call registration indicators
car approach indicator
car landing indicator
direction of travel indicator
floor indicator
car position indicator, etc.

self leveling tolerance = 1/2"
Hall Call button = +42" aff
Hall lantern = visible and audible signal indicating car that is responding to call button
sound once for up direction, twice for down OR say "up" or "down"

Tactile Floor indicators = in raised lettering and braille, located 60" aff on all floors at both jambs, 2" high characters
Door protective and reopening device = sense and reopen doors without contact, sensing at heights of 5" and 29", reopening at a min. of 20 seconds
door delay for car calls = min. of 3 seconds for door to remain open
illumination = min. of 5 footcandles
Car controls = Buttons at least 3/4" in smallest dimension, raised or flush
Tactile braille and visual control indicators at each button
Main entry floor designated by a raised start at the left of the floor designation.

Height = All buttons shall be no higher than 54 inches above finish floor for side approach, 48 inch max. for front approach.
Emergency controls = grouped below controls panel, no less than 35 inches above finish floor
Car position indicators = required above control panel or over the door, shows position of the elevator in hoistway (floor)
floor being passed is shown on position indicator as well as an audible tone when passed
Emergency communications = highest operable part shall be max. 48 inches aff, cord from handset at least 29 inches.
